The recently renamed "Come Together: A Night For John Lennon's Words & Music, Dedicated To New York City & Its People" , has been rescheduled for October 2, because of last week's tragic events. The non- violence concert will be at the Radio City and will air live on the cable network at 8 p.m. ET.
The concert will now benefit New York City relief organizations, including the American Red Cross, September 11th Fund, International Association Of Fire Fighters, New York Fraternal Order Of Police WTC Fund, the National Organization For Victim Assistance, and the Twin Towers Fund, in addition to the Violence Policy Center and the Brady Center To Prevent Gun Violence united with the Million Mom March.

On September 20 STP set for "Come Together : A night for John Lennon" at New York's Radio City Hall. TNT will broadcast this show October 9, Lennon's birthday, at 8 p.m. ET. All the proceeds from the event will go to the Violence Policy Center, whose mission is to end gun violence.
Some of the artists set initially for the show are: Alanis Morissette, Lou Reed, Moby, Nelly Furtado, Beck... However, this last artist will not attend "Come Together", because he is affected by the terrorist attacks on NY. Probably, more guys will cancel their participation.
There are many fresh dates for "FVT". Check it here!
STP and their chef, Jaime Laurita, will be appearing on a new show called Roadie Chefs II. Roadie Chefs II will air on Sunday, September 30 at 9PM ET/PT on the Food Network. In my opinion, this program will be a little weird!

Happy Birthday dear Dean! The STP's guitarrist celebrates today his 40th birthday. But... what does he take or do to look so cute and young?!? I think that they all are in a great shape and the new image of the band is preatty good.
"Hollywood Bitch", the second single from "Shangri-La Dee Da", arrives at US radios today, following the pop-melodic song, "Days Of The Week".
The german site Rockplast has some material (photo, video, autograph...) about STP at the Bizarre Festival. Check it out!
STP's gig last night in "Paredesde Coura" was phenomenal. Now I understand why Kerrang! magazine named Weiland "the last great rock star". That man dominated the stage and everyone's attention. To read more about the gig, the song line up or to see some photos, click here.
STP plays today in the greatest "Paredes de Coura Festival", Portugal. This is the first show of the STP's european tour that will end on September 1.

Eric Kretz was sued by his ex-wife for divorce (their marige ended in November 2000) in Los Angeles Superior Court, because she wants $1.6 million, or half of his earnings, and financial support.
Shari W. Kretz says that Eric promised her a large house on a large piece of land and have encouraged her to quit her career in fashion. As well, in 1992, Shari ended a pregnancy after "Eric promised that if she had an abortion that they should have another child when Eric was more "financially able to do so".
She also claims that she had provided input to the songs on Core, contributing to some words used in the lyrics to songs, and providing the inspiration for " the Eric-penned radio hit "Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart" by "introducing Eric to subjects which expanded his creative abilities."
Shari also allegedly "designed Eric's clothing and his 'rock 'n' roll look.'" When the drummer sought to improve his "physical image" in the band, she "recommended that Eric look into 'surgical liposuction,'" and "nursed him" after undergoing the procedure.
Yeah... right... I think that someone wants to be famous!
"Days of the week" is currently rockin' on MTV Europe everyday! This is preatty good 'cause the videos from the 4th album didn't receibe much attention from this channel.
Stone Temple Pilots have added three more European tour dates:
08.29.01
Hamburg, Germany - Grosse Freiheit 36
08.31.01 Munich , Germany - Babylon
09.01.01 Winterthur, Switzerland
There are some lovely pics in the official page. Don't miss it!

This week the frontpage of Kerrang is dedicated to STP or, best saying, to Scott Weiland. Click here to see it.
Tomorrow comes out in the USA the 2nd album of Crystal Method called " Tweekend ", that includes several collaborations as Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Scott Weiland...
STP is on the cover of the Guitar One magazine.

"Shangri- La Dee Da" drops down in Billboard's chart, and this is Weiland's comment about this relative failure:
"I think at the end of the day this record will be very successful commercially, but it's gonna be over the course of probably the four singles that have been released. You know, it's not gonna be the kind of thing like Eminem or something where you're on the tip of everybody's tongue 'cause you show some sort of bravado, because you're willing to, like, say bad words about gay people in your songs and stuff."

"Hedwig & The Angry Inch", the glam-rock-themed movie championed by the STP, opened July 20 in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.
The film is about a German boy who submits to a sex-change operation in order to marry an American GI and earn freedom beyond the Berlin Wall. The hitch is that the operation is botched- hence the "angry inch"- and eventually Hedwig is left alone in Kansas where he/she picks up the pieces by starting a glam rock band.
STP helped extend the production's cult status by participating in events surrounding it during the past couple years. And just last month in New York, Weiland took the stage for a STP performance dressed as the character.

Incubus and STP were practically neighbors earlier this year, as both bands recorded at beach houses in Malibu, California. Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger told that STP took the more private route, while Incubus had a house right on the beach that was owned by a concert violinist. According to Einziger, STP was seriously eyeing Incubus's dream-home recording studio.
Incubus's forthcoming "Morning View" is set to be mastered this week. It is slated for an October 23 release.
Now at the official site there is some answers to questions that fans have made for the band earlier this year. Scott has taken the time to answer some of them:
- " How has the band
changed the most since Core? "
- Weiland: " We don't let fear direct our lives. "
- "What current bands
you believe are truly talented? "
- Weiland: " Radiohead. ATDI, Travis, Air, Flaming Lips,
Staind."
- " STP has already
achieved a lot: hit singles, Grammys, multi-platinum albums, sold
out shows
what's next? "
- Weiland: " Teaching love. "
- "If you had to sum
it up, what would the mantra of the band be? "
- Weiland: " The pathway to peace runs through hell."

STP have travelled all the way up to Toronto to take part in an undisclosed Much Music TV, on the past 10th of July. The result can be seen on Muchmusic.com. There you will find excellent photographs of the boys, and the transcription of the entire interview with the band. Among all the photos on the site, we can find some very amusing ones of their dressing room, including such items as their toothbrushes and their slippers.
P.S. --> There is a photo wherein Weiland and Dean seem a bit more than close friends. But, if that is okay with them, who am I to object??? : )
Sorry for the 2 week interruption on site updates, but in between the 10 exams I've had recently, I just didn't have much time to come around and update the site. Since I am now on vacation (starting today), I will try and put up some new things in this page. Yeaaaaah!!!
STP are today in Toronto, Canada, to promote the new album in 102.0 The Edge. The show will be broadcasted from 8 till 9 P.M., Toronto local time.
"Shangri-la Dee Da" debuted at number 9 on the Billboard charts! Although some fans have seen that placing as a disappointment, some other, of the more sober, controlled, thoughtful type, don't rate an album by the number of sales it achieves. If any of you thinks that the number of sales is the barometer of good things, just look at the dross that has invaded the top of the charts. There are some exceptions (like Tool with the new "Lateralus"), but, alas, they are rare. Marketing and bad taste rule!!
The London show (August 21st) was moved to Brixton Academy cause the tickets to Astoria sould out in less than two days.
I added today a new fan art made by Umbigu (Portugal). This is a very good non-STP work, but it's so awsome that i decided to put it in the site.
P.S.--> Take a very closer look to this work, and maybe you can read something not new. Pearl Jam's fans... I'm talking to you!
I bought today my "Shangri la dee da" and I think that the CD is very good. I know that the sound is a little bit different, but thay have to grow, to explore new ways. I like the strange "Regeneration"and "Too cool Queenie", but I also like the sweet "Hello it's late" or "Wonderful". Hope you understand and enjoy the new century sound of STP.
I've added the lyrics of "Shangri la dee da" to my page. Check it out!
The new "Shangri la dee da" it is now available in all the American stores!
The official site was parcial remodeled to celebrate the release of " Shangri La Dee Da", and it has new photos of the band. I highlight the one of the banner... They're so chinese, with those cute little umbrellas!

Whoever desires to see the new look and listen to some sounds of the band, can do so in the official website, for they have a streaming video (real player format) about 1min. 45 sec. long. That shows some rehearsals of the new single, recorded on that now famous Malibu home of them. Just to serve as a reminder, this is not the band's official video for ''Days of the Week''.
Eric Kretz is now one year older. The fatality occurred on last June 7th. He is now currently *** years old - I am not authorized to say it : ) Congratulations!
P.S.- Bad news for European fans: the release date has been postponed from June 19 to August 6. (Right on! First Tool, now STP? what are these people on?)

But there are more fresh news:
1- Scott Weiland went to L.A. alternative station KROQ on Wednesday (May 30) to world premiere the new single, talk about the album... He talked about doing the Family Values tour or not, but the band hasn't officially accepted, cause the lineup is still being ironed out.
The new single was presented with snippets of 3 new songs: "Hollywood Bitch" ( it could be the second single), "Wonderful" (Weiland's favorite ballad that it's also a love song for his wife) and "Coma" (sounds like a rap-metal version of Purple's "Vasoline") . Weiland also said that "Days of the week" was going to be given to Sheryl Crow for her next album until he decided that wanted the song for the band.
2- On May 30th and 31st, STP filmed the video for the first single: "Days of the week". On the official site you can see four new pics.
3- MTV also wanted to participate with fresh news about the video footage:
"...They donned red astronaut suits on Thursday for their "Days of the Week" video, in which they play door-to-door salesmen who escape their monotonous lives by blasting into space and rocking out on an unidentified planet..."
"...The "Days of the Week" clip, directed by Kevin Kerslake ... opens with Weiland's character leaving his suburban home in what could be Anywhereville, U.S.A., though it was actually shot in a nondescript neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley...".
