Scott "... recently went into the studio
again with producer Josh Abraham (Staind, Crazy Town and Deadsy,
etc.) to lay down a few tracks for his second solo outing. Weiland and Abraham hope to enter
the studio to finish the album in spring next year, and have so
far finished four tracks.
I've received yesterday the promo CD of a new band called The Exies (their banner is on this site) and I may tell you that their sound is very good. The first single is "Without", a POWERFULL music. I advise!

Scott: " I think my wife and I will stay together, to tell you the truth ... Yeah, I just talked to her on the phone today and like neither of us, really want, you know, if we do get a divorce, we'll probably get remarried six months later."

If you do
remember, Scott helped produce the album "Break Your
Silence" (coming January 2003) by Cinder. He was the co-producer and
contributed lyrics and vocals on the track "Lush" . The first single will be "Soul
Creation".
So... go to the official Cinder's page if you want to know more
things about the band. Read the BIO page , where there's a few
lines talking about Weiland.

" ... Michelle Branch is looking at collaborations of her
own for her second album. Among the names in the mix--Stone
Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland.
The 19-year-old singer-songwriter told LAUNCH, "Hopefully,
it'll be out by the end of March. Scott Weiland is going to
produce some stuff, Dave Navarro played on a track so far,
there's a couple of different things. It's very exciting to be
to, you know, have people whose records I have at home call up
and say they want to be part of it. It's extremely exciting, and
inspiring, and I feel really, really blessed that I'm able to
work with all these people, it's, you know, hopefully, it'll
sound good.

" ... Scott Weiland is confident that things will turn
out OK for actress Winona Ryder, despite her recent felony convictions of
grand theft and vandalism.
Weiland told LAUNCH that just because Ryder's in the public eye,
it "doesn't mean the public owns her." He also thinks
the best thing for her to do it get back to work. "You know,
just keep on doing what she's doing--she's a great actress and
uh, you know, I'm sure she, after all this huge ordeal, has
realized that she made a couple of stupid mistakes and I doubt
she will ever make that same mistake again."

" Scott Weiland talked to LAUNCH about his support
of the
Musician's Assistance Program (MAP), prior to his performance Thursday
(November 7) for the third annual MAP Awards dinner fundraiser,
at the House Of Blues in Los Angeles.
Founded in 1992 by musician and ex-addict Buddy Arnold and
partner Carole Fields, MAP helps musicians seeking recovery from
drug and alcohol abuse. Weiland spoke highly of the organization,
and Arnold in particular.
"One time he even came up to me and said, 'Look, I don't think you're ready to stop shooting dope right now, so I think we ought to take you down to the methadone clinic and get you put on methadone.' And I thought that was really cool, coming from a sober guy. Unfortunately, methadone didn't work for me--it took a few months behind bars for it to sort of settle in for me--but, uh, the foundation's amazing, it's helped a lot of musicians."

" Mary Weiland ... has apparently filed for divorce. The two officially separated on September 19th and Mrs. W wants custody of the kids - 2 year old Noah and 2 month old Lucy -alimony, and for Scott to pick up legal fees".

MTV Europe presented a show with Linkin Park, and there was a funny story related to STP. Chester Bennington (vocals) made a smart bet with a promotions manager of the band: if "Hybrid Theory" went gold till Xmas (2000), she would have to give him her Stone Temple Pilots platinum plaque. The album debuted at no.16 on the Billboard chart, so he won the bet. After that, Chester started to sleep with this trophy on his tour bus bunk bed.

Weiland and Mary "... welcomed their new daughter Lucy Olivia Weiland into the world on Saturday (July 20)... Born at 9:17 a.m., she weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long".
This is a great moment for Weiland's family and I'm sure that they're very happy. This is the second child of the couple, and the first one, Noah Mercer Weiland, was born at 11-19-2000 in LA.
Last Friday I went to a Radiohead's concert here in Oporto (PT) and It was amazing. Their sound is very... very good and they played 26 songs. So I think that the real fans of good music should definitively go to a show of the band. Next stop is Spain, where they have seven dates agended, and 4 of them are sould out. Be sure to check out the band if they go near your town. Click here to visit an excelent site about them!
STP'll be at the "Street Scene 2002" - San Diego, California. This three-day music festival (September 6, 7 and 8) feature over 80 bands and names like: Ja Rule, Bad Religion, Busta Ryhmes, Unwritten Law, The Crystal Method, Live, Wyclef Jean...

" Celebrating 100 years of hogging the road, Harley Davidson is bringing out the big names for its Open Road Tour. Along for the ride are the reunited members of The Doors, featuring keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robbie Krieger and drummer John Densmore, with Ian Astbury of The Cult rumored to be joining in for vocal duties. This will be The Doors' first show in 30 years. Their last gig was in 1972 - shortly after the death of their rock idol frontman Jim Morrison.
Also on the bill for various dates are Stone Temple Pilots, Nickelback, Los Lobos, Journey, Blues Traveler, Tim McGraw, Alison Krauss & Union Station, The Wailers, Billy Idol, Bob Dylan, and George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, among others.
While each stop on the planned 10-city outing will feature different performers, the festival will include standard elements like a custom and antique bike display, demo rides, motorcycle drill teams and stunt riders, movies, tattoo artists, fashion shows and an extensive collection of rare exhibits telling the history of Harley-Davidson.
Right now, only five dates and locations are locked in, starting July 19 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Other cities on the books but not confirmed are Mexico City, Sydney, Tokyo, Barcelona, and Munich, making this a global, year-long event.
Each Open Road stop is a weekend-long deal. Tickets are on sale at $55 a pop and kids under 13 are free when accompanied by a paying adult. "

" The reunited Doors plan to record new material for a future album release, featuring vocal and lyric contributions from the lead singers of Stone Temple Pilots, Creed, and the Cult.
Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek told LAUNCH. "We're going to be sending out the instrumental version of the songs to a couple of different singers and poets and see what they can put to it," he said. "Like, Scott Weiland's interested in doing some stuff, and maybe Scott Stapp and certainly Ian Astbury. And Jim Carroll will be writing some poetry for us, too, so it'll be spread around." ...
